I am excited to announce we will be offering our Peregrine Falcons and Wood Ducks tour again in 2021. This time we will be adding Great-horned owls and some NYC cityscapes as well!  My partner for this tour, Harry Collins, is an immensely talented and award winning wildlife photographer and together we are offering a chance to photograph these iconic species. So don't miss out!

Peregrine falcon image

Peregrine falcons are powerful, fast flying birds of prey that hunt on the wing for small to medium sized birds.  We will be photographing these birds from a unique vantage point that will allow for several different types of images including free-flying, landing, take off, and perched.  We will have a high probability of seeing these birds with prey and performing many different behaviors.

Wood ducks sport some of the most exquisite plumage of any bird in North America.  We will have the opportunity to photograph these birds up close and personal and in a setting that brings out all of their splendid colors.

Great-horned owls are powerful, silent flying birds of prey that hunt on the wing for small to medium sized mammals.  We will be photographing these birds at several nesting areas that will provide various vantage points and settings.  We will have a high probability of seeing these birds with prey and young.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Due to COVID concerns and to allow our clients the most flexibility and comfort for lodging during the tour, you are responsible for arraigning your own accommodations for the tour.  Our base of operations will be the Hampton Inn at Glenpointe/Teaneck, New Jersey.  There is an adjoining hotel (Homewood Suites) and a Marriott Hotel directly across the street from the Hampton Inn.  Staying at one of these hotels will make meeting up in the mornings prior to departure for daily shoots very easy.  There are other hotels in the Teaneck/Glenpointe area.  You will be responsible for getting to the Hampton Inn each morning.  Included in-tour transport will be provided from the base hotel only, so you will need to get to the Hampton Inn each morning.

Workshop fee does not include:

Cost of getting to Hotel in Teaneck/Glenpointe, New Jersey; Lodging, meals; alcoholic beverages; gratuities, and anything else not explicitly stated in the "Included" list.

Photography Notes:

We shoot rain or shine unless there is lightning or other hazardous conditions. If we get weathered out we keep ourselves busy with photography related activities as best we can.

Best bird photos are obtained with 500MM or more. Hand-holding, tripods, and monopods all work well.

Additional Notes:

Tour 1: March 14 and March 19 are travel days, March 15-18 are photography days.

Tour 2: March 7 and March 12 are travel days, March 8-11 are photography days

In-tour transport starts from Hotel and is provided March 15-18 and March 8 - 11; transport from the Newark airport to the hotel and back can possibly be arraigned with advanced notice.

The workshop itinerary is subject to change and is to be considered provisional.

This workshop requires a minimum number of participants, if sufficient workshop places are not sold the workshop may not be run, this workshop has a minimum participant level of 4.

Not all mentioned wildlife can be observed & photographed at all times of the year, thus some activities may be considered seasonal & not available.
