Learn how to get stunning images of a variety of birds that call northern Spain home during the spring. Learn techniques for shooting from blinds/hides, on foot, and from vehicles. Techniques that will serve you well on future photography adventures. This workshop will traverse several different geographic areas from Cantabrian mountain to Pyrenees mountain to Steppe habitats. Along with this diversity in habitats comes a diversity of bird species.
Although this workshop will focus on getting world-class images of birds, we will likely see and photograph some mammals as well.
I limit participation to just six photographers, so each participant receives personalized and focused attention. However, there is something very unique about this workshop; the inclusion of a parallel itinerary for non-photographers. So, if you have a non-photographer significant other they can come along on this wonderful Spain adventure and be pampered with activities such as wine tasting; a spa day; a culinary class; and history, art, and nature-based tours while you are out getting images of Spain's birds. The fee for the parallel tour is the same as the photographer's tour and the activities are just as spectacular. The full itinerary for the non-photography tour can be downloaded here, or by calling or emailing me (772-713-1216, email@example.com).
My photography workshop will focus on getting images of a variety of bird species, some of which are very rare and difficult to obtain anywhere else. Some mammals too like wildcats.

I will meet you in Leon, Spain. We spend our first night in Leon. Then, we move north and shoot for 9 days. At the end we find ourselves in Barcelona. We fly back home from Barcelona.
Please note: we have a travel agent standing by to help you book your flights. By using our travel agent you will be assured of getting on the best flight to arrive and depart on time for the tour. She will also get you the best rate possible on your tickets as she books to Spain every day. When you sign up for the tour I will put you in contact with Doris Kwek of Indian River Travel.
Workshop/Tour fee includes:
Transportation in Spain
4x4 vehicles During bird photography
Mercedes Sprinters during transfers
Breakfast and Dinner each day
Expert photographer and guides (Bilingual)
Transfers on arrival and departures
Workshop fee does not include:
Cost of getting to Madrid Airport. Alcoholic beverages. _________________________________________________________________ We shoot rain or shine unless there are hazardous conditions.
Best photos are obtained with 70mm thru 600mm lenses. But also bring your favorite landscape lens. Tripods and monopods work well in most situations, but hand holding can be very effective; especially for flight shots.
Some shoots will be on foot, others from vehicles, and many from hides. So, this workshop will give you a great variety of shooting experiences along with a myriad of species to photograph.
